As part of the charity, We believe in helping others learn how to be independent in their living skills. So part of that is teaching people who have recently lost their sight or those that are about to loose their sight to live independently within their own homes.
Here we are teaching someone to make a cup of tea, of course we start with cold water. This lady is learning to listen for the water, judge the fullness of the cup. As you can see by the picture we are using a jug of water (its cold water).
In the last two photos I'm trying to teach the person the difference in the mugs when one is tapered at the bottom. The other mug has a flat bottom and it sounds and feels different when pouring liquids.
This technique with practice has proven very successful.
[Picture description- photo 1-4 is a lady, black jumper, holding a tapered mug and a jug, pouring water to make a cup of tea.
Photo 5-6, man in a black jumper holding a flat bottom mug, pouring water from a jug to make a cup of tea.
