It’s Not Easy Being A Superdog
We don’t want you think that you are just sponsoring a puppy as our dogs are much more than that. We consider all of our dogs heroes.
Without your help and generosity we would struggle to survive and provide mobility and independence to blind people in the UK. We need your support, no matter how large or small. We will not dictate to you that you must give £1, £2, £5 or any other amount per week or per month. What you give is entirely your choice and what we receive is more than what we had before.
From breeding to qualification, which takes about 2½ years, costs the charity approximately £36,000 but that’s not all. We promise to take care of our dogs throughout their working life and retirement to ensure that they get the best of care and be the best they can. This also ensures that no blind person is financially discriminated in having their natural right of freedom and independence.
As a totally independent charity, we do not get any funding from other guide dog schools, government or statutory source. Although we may be considered for some grant funding, the majority or our income is through fundraising, street collections and from kind people like you.
So if you can help us in any way to raise funds to cover costs of our dogs – training, vet, insurance, equipment, food and much more – then please consider supporting us.
You could consider donating money as and when you can or regularly by standing order. You could look at our wish list for other ideas to help.
If you are in no position to help us financially then look at our other ways to raise funds through everyday tasks that will cost you nothing or donate your time as that could be more valuable to us. What about doing a fundraising event for us?
